Cake Mania was actually interesting to me. It was the same sort of thing, you complete orders. The graphics were cute, the cakes looked yummy and the stress level was just right.

Stress is an important part of any game. It can’t be too easy, or you’ll get bored quickly. It can’t be too hard or it gets too frustrating. A just right combination makes a game challenging, you might not make it every level, but with a little more practice you manage to get through it.

This game offers some unique upgrades with ever level. There are also some very interesting characters; grandmothers, vampires and Santa Clause!

I recommend signing up for Shockwave’s membership plan, which is about $5 a month I think. And then you get access to all their games. This is part of that same membership plan, though you can download it and play for an hour for free.

Game reviewers who had bad luck with the company they bought it from, and they give the game a bad review because Amazon/Walmart screwed them. Look guys, don’t blame the game. Don’t give a bad review because of that. Not the game’s fault.

Game reviewers who didn’t try out the game, gave it a thumbs up and said “I’m going to try this, looks fun!” That’s not a review! Also, an addendum to this, that same person comes back an hour later, and gives it a thumbs down saying. “Didn’t like it.”

That brings another point. Reviews that just say “I didn’t like it” is stupid. That doesn’t help. What didn’t you like about it?

You will be surprised at why people say they didn’t like it. Sometimes it is as simple as “I couldn’t figure out how to get past a certain point.” So they run back and give the game a thumbs down because the game stumped them.

If a game is boring because of repetitiveness, or lack of real challenge, that’s a review.

If a game lacks graphics or if the graphics makes your computer lag a lot, that’s something to note.

If a game is too easy, you can beat it in an hour or two of playing, that is a worthy note.

If it was fun because it was challenging and engaging, that is interesting.

I wish people would explain themselves more in reviews online, anywhere. But then again, with some people, probably better if they didn’t.

The mayor has married, and now they are starting a family. They hire a nanny to clean the house and take care of things.

Who ever thought a game about cleaning up would be fun? Moms and nannies will get a real laugh out of this one. So like real life, as you clean, more messes are created.

The goal is to get through the day before time runs out and have everything cleaned up.

Once you get a routine down, the game is quite simple. Do all the laundry at once, so you don’t have to do repeat loads. Then do all the ‘once a day’ chores, like the mailbox, a crashed computer clean up, and some fish tanks. The kids and the father are the worst in the game, constantly messing up just after you cleaned something. After a while, you want to lock them in a room.

The game is fun, but the only problem I had was, there wasn’t one day where I ‘failed’ at. I managed to get through without any problems. Once the kids grow up, the messes come less frequently.

The game is short. I recommend playing when you subscribe to Shockwave’s subscription plan, about $5 a month for unlimited game play. Once you have that, you can download and play this and all the other games until you are done with them.

Great fun game to get a laugh out of real life.

I have been working at blog makeovers again. This is hard work, I don’t know how people can do this.

This blog and one other blog needs a makeover really, really bad. I’m very happy with the other ones I’ve worked with. I don’t know why I’ve been avoiding working on the other too. I’m dodgy, what can I say?

I want to start doing some online game reviews for some of these games I play, not just RuneScape and Neopets.

I would love feedback. I know I don’t really have any sort of ‘real’ focuse for this place, but if there is something you like about it in particular, leave a comment for me and let me know what you want to see more of.

We’ll try it and see how it goes. But the benefit of the blog is that you get to post your opinion about the games in the comment. Good or bad doesn’t matter to me, but do try to sound somewhat coherent and give a few facts. Saying “It is dumb” just doesn’t quite have the same effect of actually having something intelligent to add to the conversation.
